Tips and Tricks for Choosing the Most Comfortable Shoes

When Shopping for a shoe you should look for... 

1. If it's a heel for work, don't go any higher than two inches and go for a broader based heel.  The higher the heel is the more pressure you are putting on the from of our foot and the more likely it will cause pain. (Wedges are comfortable because they distribute your weight more evenly and support your whole foot).

2. A good, firm heel counter (this helps lock the foot into the shoe and anchors it to the mid-sole, giving extra support).

3. A Sole and heel materials that provide cushioning and shock absorption.  Test a shoe for cushioning by pressing a finger into the ball area. It should have a little give or a slightly feel. Comfortable shoes typically have a cushioned foot bed that supports the natural shape of the feet.

4. A broader and deeper toe shape.  In the most comfortable shoes the toe box will allow a lot of room, preventing pinching or constriction of the toes.

5. Avoid synthetics!  Wear only shoes that have natural leather or suede insoles because it is breathable and pliable, it will prevent chafing and blistering while molding to the feet.
