Women Shoe Shopping for Holiday Parties

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

November 5, 2012 --- Survey shows women are looking for shoes to dress up their outfit this holiday season. Over 75% of women surveyed have already started shoe shopping for the holiday  season, according to The International Shoe Horn Association’s "Shoes and the Holiday Season" survey, conducted by Targeted Market Surveys. This survey of 450 female consumers, ages 18-54 was conducted on October 7-18.

When asked to select the type of shoe they want, 55% of the women indicated boots, 17% flats, and 11% pumps. Somewhat surprising was that despite all the press and buzz surrounding designer high heels, only 8% of women selected them as they type of shoe they are shopping for.

While the survey did not ask the reason for the their selections, Brogan Cobbler, Fashion Editor of Shoe Style Magazine commented "I'd say that although women love designer shoes, the economy and the retail price points of them were probably a factor.  Ultimately, they want trendy shoes at affordable prices."
The survey also revealed that the most popular way of shopping was online (67%) followed by an independent retail shoe store (60%).
